Could you describe the moment when you realized that you wanted to be a singer?

Possibly at 3 whilst belting Shania Twain’s “Man I feel like a woman” haha, or maybe when Avril Lavigne’s album came out ;).

In all seriousness I think when songwriting became a bit of a vice, singing came with that. It’s important for me that I become a great artist overall, and I’ve known since being very young that’s what I wanted to be.

– What was your favorite moment while supporting Tom Odell in the last tour?

Milan! All the dates were incredible but that one was really something special. It was probably the biggest crowd I’ve ever played to, and I could have sworn almost everyone in that room listened which is an incredible feat!! I’d do that show 100x over (including the bit where I spilt water all over myself).

– If you could describe your music in a word what would it be?

One word!! … hmm. Real. (I hope that doesn’t sound too pretentious) ha!

– Top 3 favorite songs of the moment.

Gillian Welch – Look at Miss Ohio

Kurt Vile – Pretty Pimpin’

Steeldrivers – Can you run

– What are your favorite hobbies besides making music?

I like to write, poems little stories etc (nerd)… and I must say I’m a bit of a gamer girl, I grew up with computer games so that’s a thing for me… I can’t say sleeping here can I?

– If you could tour anywhere in the world where would it be?

Ooh. America, and hopefully that’ll be happening very soon a little birdy told me (see what I did there 😉 ).

– What was the tip that a teacher ever gave you?

I once had a brilliant Russian piano teacher who told me to practice even without a piano you just envision the keys if you can’t get to one.

– Your favorite song (from your songs) and its meaning to you

“Who wants”, it’s actually about a couple that stay together out of convenience, despite there being no love there anymore – almost a commentary around a time they’d probably put the divorce papers out. It’s quite relevant to a few situations I’ve seen, my family’s not had much luck with the old marriage thing 😉 – plenty of divorces to justify a song!
