Guide of Moscow

Moscow, the political, economic and cultural capital of the immense and powerful country of Russia, was always known for the diversity of its population and the wealth of its culture. Today more than ever, the cultural activities are expanding with new forms of art and entertainment. It is an exiting time to visit this city that manages to combine modernity and tradition. Are you planning to spend a few days in Moscow? Let’s see what are the amazing things to do!

DAY 1

You should definitely start your trip by visiting the Red Square, emblematic symbol of Moscow.  It is a mix of historical influences with the medieval roots of Russia represented by Saint Basil’s Cathedral; and at the same time, you can feel the influence of communism with Lenin’s Mausoleum. The ideal is to spend a few hours to see all the different monuments and also have a coffee at the Bosco Bar to admire the view.

Then, you can walk through the Kremlin and take some time at the Moscow Kremlin Museums. It is the centre of the Russian political power and use to be the centre of the Orthodox Church.

 DAY 2

One of the best places to visit is the Gallery of European & American Art of the 19th & 20th Centuries that brings together European Impressionist works such as paintings by Degas, Manet or Renoir. It is based on the collection of two well-known Moscow art patrons.

After that, you should have a look at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. Completed in 1997, it is amazingly opulent and garishly grandiose. The best spot to admire this splendid monument is at the Strelka Bar during sunset.

DAY 3

Moscow has another Kremlin, located in the east. There, you can find a market, the Izmaylovo Market, where you can buy various Russian products, and also great souvenirs such as Russian dolls and Putin mugs!

The Bolshoi Theatre is also a must see in Moscow. The guided tour is deeply recommended and it will allow you to see behind the scenes, in particular the impressive costumes room.

DAY 4

To end your stay, you should enjoy the Gorky Park, the main escape from the urban jungle, located in the heart of the city. It provides activities such as cycling, rollerblading, extreme sports, and in the winter, the park turns into the city’s biggest ice-skating rink. Let’s hope you will enjoy your stay in this beautiful city!
